Harvard Business School is actively seeking a Project Manager for the Project on Impact Investing. This pivotal role is centered around advancing sustainable and impact investing research and involves close collaboration with Professors Shawn Cole and Josh Lerner. The Project aims to combine rigorous academic research with investor and policymaker engagement to deepen understanding and inform practice in sustainable and impact investing.
The Manager’s role encompasses designing and executing research, building novel datasets, supporting practitioner engagement, and disseminating research. This position will offer not only research exposure but also the opportunity to contribute to academically rigorous projects. Prior incumbents in this position have successfully proceeded to prominent PhD programs and professions in impact investing and social enterprises.
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative research on sustainable and impact investing.
- Use AI-enabled tools, LLMs, and traditional methods to analyze complex datasets.
- Develop and maintain datasets for ongoing academic research.
- Perform data analysis and literature reviews for publications.
- Draft research memoranda and teaching materials.
- Coordinate multiple concurrent research projects.
- Manage relationships with collaborators and practitioners.
- Support events like conferences, convenings, and webinars.
- Disseminate research findings and maintain digital resources.
- Represent the Project professionally.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Minimum of three years of relevant experience in consulting, research, or finance.
- Demonstrated project management skills with multiple stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently with strong analytical judgment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
