Senior Scientist — Cell Therapy (Thymmune)
Responsibilities:
- Design, execute, and interpret in vivo studies to assess efficacy, safety, pharmacology, biodistribution, persistence, and mechanism of action of iPSC-derived thymic cell products.
- Develop/refine preclinical mouse models for immune reconstitution, immunosenescence, aging, and immune tolerance.
- Investigate cellular/molecular mechanisms driving thymic regeneration, T-cell development, immune tolerance, and immunosenescence.
- Implement high-dimensional immune profiling (e.g., flow cytometry, RNA-seq) and functional assays (T-cell activation, cytotoxicity, mixed lymphocyte reaction); develop biomarker strategies.
- Collaborate with iPSC Research, Process Development, and Analytical Development on potency/efficacy/safety-related product attributes.
- Generate robust PoC/pharmacology/MoA data packages to support candidate selection and nonclinical development.
- Analyze, interpret, and communicate study results; maintain accurate documentation and data integrity.
- Assess literature/competitive landscape; evaluate new therapeutic opportunities.
- Mentor junior team members.
- PhD in immunology, stem cell biology, regenerative medicine, or related field.
- 5+ years preclinical model experience, including in vivo mouse studies; immunological assay development.
- Strong knowledge of immunology/thymus biology/T-cell development/immune reconstitution/tolerance.
- Independent project execution (design, study execution, analysis, interpretation, presentation).
- Rodent handling, tissue collection/dissection, multiple routes of administration (IV/IP/SQ, etc.).
- Hands‑on in vitro work with primary human/murine cells; experience developing immunological assays (MLR, T‑cell activation, cytotoxicity).
- Multi‑color flow cytometry; qPCR/ddPCR; histology; ELISA/MSD; statistical analysis and troubleshooting.
- Excellent written/verbal communication; collaborative fast‑paced environment experience.
- 1+ year nonclinical/IND-enabling/regulatory authoring experience (PoC, pharmacology, MoA, translational sciences).
- Knowledge of immunosenescence, age‑related immune dysfunction, tumor immunology, autoimmunity, transplantation immunology/tolerance.
- Publications and/or IP contributions.
