Job Summary Summer:
Drives research projects scientifically and determines the course of research as evidenced by leadership, obtaining funding, writing, or other recognition. May not necessarily receive independent resources; however, their contribution is essential to the conceptual/scientific success of the project.o Design and perform genetic association analysis.o Design, plan, and execute cell-based, biochemical, and in vivo experiments necessary to validate target genes for therapeutic discovery.o

Maintain cell lines and isolate primary cells for use in cell-based assays.o Work with informatics and computational scientists to integrate and interpret screening and functional genomic data sets.o Perform detailed characterization and cellular mechanism of action studies of chemically optimized compounds.o Perform mouse genetic linkage analysis to define genes affecting genome instabilityo Work with team to design and execute research plans to ensure that critical project requirements, timelines, and deliverables are met.o

Troubleshoot and solve scientific problems independently.o Identify, investigate and implement new technologies based on scientific needs.o Effectively present results in cross-functional project teams.o Design, execute, and interpret research experiments.o Train investigators in techniques relating to small animal surgery, molecular biology, and vector construction.o Investigates, creates and develops new methods and technologies for research advancement so Assist in laboratory management.o Contribute to scientific literature and present research at scientific forums

Qualifications Education Doctorate  Related Field of Study required

Licenses and Credentials Experience Previous  Research experience (inclusive of graduate and postdoctoral experience) 5-7 years required
