The Bowery Bar—opened in 2018 and home to one of the best patios in Boston—is seeking an experienced and driven Executive Chef to lead our kitchen. A true neighborhood gem in Lower Mills, the Bowery has become a dining staple, beloved by guests and proudly holding a 4.6‑star rating on Google.

This is an opportunity to take the helm of a highly regarded, community‑focused restaurant with a strong following and a vibrant bar program. We’re looking for a culinary leader who can deliver consistently excellent food, inspire and develop a team, manage costs and systems, and continue to elevate a menu that keeps our guests coming back.

Responsibilities
  • Leadership:
    Lead by example, inspiring and motivating your team to provide excellent service and consistently meet performance standards.
  • Operational Oversight:
    Oversee day‑to‑day operations, including scheduling, inventory management and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Staff Development:
    Recruit, train, and develop your management and hourly teams, providing coaching and feedback to foster their growth and success.
  • Financial Management:
    Manage budgeting, cost control and revenue optimization to achieve profitability targets.
  • Vendor Relations:
    Build and maintain positive relationships with suppliers and vendors to secure quality ingredients and products.
  • Special Menus:
    Develop and execute innovative monthly food specials.
  • Quality Control:
    Ensure that all food and beverages meet our quality standards and adhere to our recipes and presentation guidelines.
  • Guest

    Experience:

    Collaborate with restaurant FOH management team to ensure a seamless guest experience.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience of at least 5 years as an Executive Chef in Mexican or Modern Elevated Comfort Food.
  • Strong leadership and team building skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proficiency in financial management, including budgeting and cost control.
  • A passion for the restaurant industry and dedication to delivering exceptional guest experiences.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations.
  • Familiarity with restaurant software and point‑of‑sale systems.
  • Flexibility to work days, evenings, and weekends.
