Counter Sales Associate
Location:
Dorchester, MA - Retail shop
- Responsible for adherence to company policies, including safety and the use of personal protective equipment.
- Provides excellent customer service to both internal and external partners.
- Ensures all required paperwork is accurately completed, including coding, costing, and pricing.
- Partners with customers to identify the best tools and procedures for their specific tasks; demonstrates equipment use to build customer confidence.
- Manages order entry and processes transactions; assists the team with reconciliation of deposits.
- Coordinates via phone, e‑mail, and in person with customers and team members to provide helpful information on costs and delivery.
- Contributes to an outgoing call strategy to support the continued growth and success of the branch.
- Coordinates the transfer of merchandise between locations to meet customer needs.
- Maintains a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a supportive manner with customers, vendors, and colleagues.
- Stocks shelves and maintains welcoming showroom displays to provide an excellent customer experience.
- Coordinates cylinder movement and pallet organization.
- HS Diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 2+ years of experience in product, warehouse, or sales environments (or equivalent combination of education and life experience).
- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced setting.
- Experience in industrial retail, inside sales, or inventory control is a plus.
- Attention to detail in handling transactions.
- Availability for occasional overtime when the team needs extra support.
- Must be able to operate in a drug‑free workplace.
- Background in gas, welding, or safety supplies.
- Familiarity with SAP, Google, or MS Office applications.
- Detailed understanding of SAP and PROS functionalities.
- Ability to communicate clearly and warmly with a wide variety of people from different backgrounds.
- Hourly Pay: $21‑$25/hr
- Monday – Friday; no weekend work.
- Hours:
6:30 am‑4 pm. - PPE provided.
