Position: Cloverkey 101 - P/T Sales Associate - Gift Shop (Boston Children's) - $17 /hr

Cloverkey is a trusted name in retail gift shops within hospital systems. As a family‑owned business, we are built on values of hard work, integrity, and exceptional customer service. We are looking for a part‑time Sales Associate who embodies these qualities and is ready to take our accounting area to the next level.

Responsibilities Customer Service
  • Provide exceptional customer service to every customer who enters the gift shop. This includes greeting every customer upon entry, thanking them for their purchase, and inviting them back as they exit the shop.
Store Performance
  • Responsible for meeting store performance objectives. The daily and monthly sales goals are available for viewing in the Daily Operations Binder and on the POS Register.
  • Follow the Corporate and Store Manager directions for supporting events.
  • Clock in and out according to the scheduled work slot to ensure the store stays within its budgeted hours allotment for the week.
Store Appearance
  • Ensure the store is clean and looks its best.
  • Keep all shelves dusted, remove trash from the gift shop floor, clean spots, organize items and display according to corporate standards, and maintain overall cleanliness.
  • Meet any special cleanliness requirements related to infection prevention.
  • Clean surfaces according to the gift shop schedule and instructions.
Cash Management
  • Handle own cash accurately and count the register drawer at the start of every shift.
  • During a shift change, count the drawer in the presence of the incoming employee or Store Manager.
  • Follow company policy for accepting credit cards and other payment methods.
  • Notate any cash overages or shortages per company policy and notify the Store Manager immediately of unexplained differences over $10.
Personal Performance
  • Follow hospital and Cloverkey policies related to personal appearance, attendance, and customer service.
  • Performance is measured individually and as a team for each annual review, covering knowledge of store operations, adherence to schedule, driving sales, customer service, understanding hospital policies, following supervisor instructions, attitude and other metrics.
Partner Relationship Management
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the hospital contact and maintain positive relationships.
  • Respect and understand the role of volunteers in the hospital and the gift shop, if applicable.
Requirements

Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in gift sales or a related field is preferred.

  • Stand for long periods of time.
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to build rapport.
  • Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills.
  • Basic math skills for processing transactions.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong sales skills with the ability to upsell and cross‑sell products.
  • Effective time‑management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Work Environment
  • Primarily inside climate‑controlled buildings.

  • Self‑paced, requiring the ability to work quickly and accurately in an often‑fast‑paced, demanding area.
