Counter Sales Associate – Dorchester, MA
Hours:
Monday – Friday, 6:30 am – 4:00 pm. No weekend work.
Hourly Pay: $21 – $25 per hour.
Personal protective equipment (PPE) is supplied by Airgas.
Responsibilities- Ensure adherence to company safety policies and proper use of personal protective equipment.
- Provide excellent customer service to internal and external partners.
- Accurately complete all required paperwork, including coding, costing, and pricing.
- Partner with customers to identify the best tools and procedures for their projects and demonstrate equipment use.
- Manage order entry and process transactions; assist with reconciliation of deposits.
- Coordinate with customers and team members via phone, e‑mail, and in person to provide information on costs and delivery.
- Support the branch’s growth by contributing to an outgoing call strategy.
- Arrange transfer of merchandise between locations to meet customer needs.
- Maintain a positive work atmosphere by communicating supportively with customers, vendors, and colleagues.
- Stock shelves and maintain showroom displays to provide an excellent customer experience.
- Coordinate cylinder movement and pallet organization.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 2 years of experience in product, warehouse, or sales environments (or equivalent combination of education and life experience).
- Excellent customer service skills and ability to thrive in a fast‑paced setting.
- Attention to detail in handling transactions.
- Availability for occasional overtime when needed.
- Must be able to work in a drug‑free workplace.
- Background in gas, welding, or safety supplies.
- Familiarity with SAP, Google, or Microsoft Office applications.
- Detailed understanding of SAP and PROS functionalities.
- Strong communication skills with a wide variety of people from different backgrounds.
