Salary Range: $99,000 - $110,000 per year.

Boston, hybrid - Monday through Thursday in office, Friday remote.

Merchandising Manager – All Modern

As a Wayfair Curated Merchant, you will develop, execute, and drive annual and seasonal assortment strategies for your categories. You’ll own the category and product curation, influencing how it appears across all Wayfair marketing channels and ensuring accurate product representation and appropriate shelf placement. You’ll foster strong cross‑functional relationships and act as the customer’s representative on the cross‑functional team.

As the All Modern Merchandising Manager, you will manage all aspects of the Casegoods category with 3 direct reports. You’ll own the category assortment and presentation, collaborating with supplier partners and internal stakeholders to drive brand identity across all channels.

• Build and maintain category assortment strategies, including developing a shelf space plan and actively selecting, developing, and iterating on the product offering.
• Lead relationships with key suppliers to deliver on category assortment needs and inclusion in Wayfair programs, such as major shopping holidays.
• Analyze core business KPIs and partner closely with cross‑functional teams on inventory, merchandising, marketing, and profit management to drive business results.
• Identify opportunities for category growth, utilizing competitive analysis and internal performance monitoring as data points.
• Own product curation and category growth efforts by maintaining a pulse on core competitive trends and customer needs.
• Attend supplier meetings and trade shows (virtually and/or in person) and lead meetings with suppliers to communicate on business performance and opportunities within Specialty Retail Brands.
• Manage direct reports who support category ownership.

• ~6+ years of experience within an e‑commerce or corporate retail organization, preferably in buying/retail merchandising or retail home‑furnishing planning.
• Management experience required.
• A strong interest in building a career in buying and/or supplier relationship management.
• Ability to understand a brand vision, aesthetic, and customer base, and to translate that into product assortment.
• Analytical mindset: cut through data, think critically about the business, and apply learning.
• Passion or knowledge of industry trends, style and product design.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to influence cross‑functionally.
• Personable, energetic communicator eager to build relationships with new business partners, both internally and externally.
• Comfortable communicating directly with C‑suite level suppliers from large companies.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously; a detail‑oriented self‑stager who can work autonomously and with partners.
• Self‑starter who can “hit the ground running” and achieve specific target goals.
• Ready to travel (trade shows & overseas) approximately 20 % of the time.
