Manager, Operations & Retail, Visitor Center at Boston Common

The Greater Boston Convention and Visitors Bureau (Meet Boston) seeks an Operations & Retail Manager for the Visitor Center at Boston Common. This role oversees daily center operations, retail merchandising, inventory, and point-of-sale processes while ensuring exceptional guest service. The manager leads and schedules staff, coordinates tourism information and ticketing, supports special events and partner promotions, and maintains visual standards. The position collaborates with hospitality partners to enhance visitor experiences and represents Meet Boston's inclusive, community-focused culture.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the Boston Common Visitor Center, ensuring smooth, guest-focused service.
• Manage retail merchandising, visual standards, and product assortment aligned with visitor needs.
• Supervise, train, and schedule front-line staff and volunteers.
• Monitor inventory, purchasing, and stock levels; reconcile POS transactions and cash handling.
• Coordinate tourism information, ticketing, and partner promotions with local hospitality stakeholders.
• Support special events, groups, and convention-related visitor activities at the center.
• Track sales, traffic, and service metrics to inform reporting and operational improvements.
• Ensure facility cleanliness, safety, and adherence to Meet Boston service standards.
