The Director of Retail Sales is a full-time, on-site role based in Boston, MA, responsible for driving sales performance and overseeing retail operations within a designated market. This position leads and coaches retail sales teams, sets sales targets, and monitors key performance metrics to ensure consistent growth and profitability. The Director collaborates with leadership on business planning, implements sales strategies, and ensures that store teams deliver an exceptional customer experience aligned with RMS brand standards.
Daily responsibilities include analyzing sales data, managing budgets, supporting inventory and merchandising initiatives, and partnering with store managers on staffing, training, and performance management. The role also works cross-functionally with marketing, operations, and distribution to optimize store performance and support RMS’s expansion goals.
- Strong Retail Sales and Sales experience, with a proven track record of leading high-performing store teams.
- Background in Retail operations, including store performance oversight, merchandising coordination, and customer experience management.
- Demonstrated leadership, coaching, and people-development skills, with the ability to inspire and guide diverse teams.
- Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities, with proficiency in using sales data and KPIs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across functions and levels.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Retail Management, or a related field; equivalent experience in multi-store retail leadership may be considered.
- Experience in furniture or home furnishings retail is highly beneficial, along with familiarity with multi-location or regional retail management.
