Overview
Smith ranks eighth among all global electronic component distributors at $14 billion in global revenue since 2020 and annual revenue in excess of $2.6 billion. Our 90,000sqft Houston warehouse is now home to Smith Solar for brokering new solar panels using our proprietary inspection and CRM systems. We have additional warehouses in Amsterdam (30,000sqft), Hong Kong (51,000sqft) and Singapore (20,000sqft) to reach our customers without geographical or time zone delays.
Smith Solar supplies top quality, brand new, PV panels, inverters, battery, storage and additional products to solar integrators and contracting firms. The Solar Sales Manager (individual contributor role) will manage relationships with revenue drivers such as installers, developers, EPCs, finance companies, distributors, brokers, manufacturers, government entities and end users.
- Develop business opportunities through research and cold calling to sell new PV panels, inverters, battery, storage and additional components
- Utilize lead generation tools (such as CRM, Sales Navigator, Zoom Info, etc) to generate individual leads without territory restrictions
- Create and expand relationships with key decision-makers at leading solar and storage project developers by understanding the customer's needs, demands and business processes
- Prepare POs based on competitive pricing and securing all revenue opportunities within the account
- Engage in long-term relationships with site-owners, energy users and organization stakeholders within the commercial solar sector
- Manage transactions based on internal guidelines, policies and SOPs
- 2+ years of solar sales experience selling to and supporting solar integrators
- Successful track record in a similar role at a solar distributor or manufacturer
- Self-motivated to work in an expansive and fast paced industry
Base salary DOE + commission (10% of GP, uncapped)
