Job Summay:
Porton Advanced Solutions is an end-to-end Cell and Gene Therapy (CGT) CRO/CDMO providing comprehensive services from research to GMP manufacturing, including LNP formulation, IVT mRNA (circ
RNA, saRNA), vector cloning, plasmid DNA, lentiviral (LV) production, gene editing (CRISPR-Cas9), and stable cell line engineering (knock-in/knock-out, point mutations). We also support a broad range of cell therapy manufacturing platforms, such as CAR-T, UCAR-T, γδ T, TCR-T, TIL, gene-edited T cells, NK, MSC, iPSC, HSC, and RBC, along with analytical testing and related services.
The Business Development Manager will play a key role in driving commercial growth for Porton’s CGT platform. This role is responsible for new business development, customer relationship management, and market expansion, while also supporting cross-functional coordination in a fast-growing organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with biotech companies, biopharma clients, and research institutions, primarily across Boston, NJ, PA, NY, and the broader Northeast U.S.
- Proactively generate new leads through market research, CRM mining, targeted email campaigns, cold outreach, conferences, and local industry events.
- Present Porton’s CGT capabilities through sales presentations, pitch decks, virtual meetings, and on-site customer visits.
- Drive opportunities from lead generation through proposal, negotiation, and contract execution to meet or exceed sales targets.
- Accurately track and manage leads, prospects, customer interactions, and opportunities in Salesforce.
- Prepare sales reports, pipeline updates, and business forecasts on a regular basis.
- Track quotes, customer inquiries, orders, payments, and shipments to ensure timely follow-up and execution.
- Coordinate with internal teams (scientific, operations, logistics, marketing, and China headquarters) to ensure seamless project handoff and customer experience.
- Collaborate with the global marketing team on email campaigns, digital content, and conference support.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, Life Sciences, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
- 1–2+ years of experience in business development, sales, or commercial roles within biotechnology, CGT, or pharmaceutical CDMO/CRO environments.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple opportunities and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with CRM systems (Salesforce preferred).
- Willingness to travel for customer visits and industry events as required.
