Reservoir is a VC backed startup based in Boston. We believe we have the fastest path to electrify every home in America with the power of water. We are building a next generation electric water heater system that delivers instant hot water while dramatically improving energy efficiency and reliability. We are looking for a hands-on and entrepreneurial Founding Sales Associate to help homeowners upgrade to a better water heater and help build the foundation for sales in a seed stage hardware company.
The ideal candidate is tech savvy, passionate about consumer hardware, and ready to wear many hats across sales, marketing and operations. You are a strong communicator who can build trust quickly with homeowners and explain a new product clearly. You will be on the ground floor of a venture backed startup working directly with an experienced, fast-paced founding team.
Job Duties /ResponsibilitiesThe role
- Speak directly with homeowners who are replacing or upgrading their water heater.
- Educate customers on how Reservoir works and why it is better than generic water heaters.
- Guide customers through the sales process from first conversation to purchase.
- Maintain organization across leads, follow-ups, and pipeline.
- Work closely with product, marketing and operations to improve the customer experience.
- Provide feedback from customer conversations to help shape product and go-to-market strategy.
- Help refine Reservoir’s early sales scripts, tools and processes.
Minimum Qualifications
- Highly motivated self-starter who takes action with little guidance and thrives in an unstructured environment.
- ~2 years of experience in sales, customer success, or a customer-facing role.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to understand and clearly explain technical products.
- Organized and capable of managing multiple conversations and follow-ups at once.
- Customer-first mindset and excitement to help homeowners adopt better technology.
Preferred qualifications
- Sales or customer experience in consumer products.
- Home services, hardware, or climate industry experience.
- Experience working at an early-stage startup.
- Interest in electrification, home energy, or climate technology.
