Position Overview
We are seeking a Group Sales Manager to lead revenue generation and market presence for a 304‑room property transitioning into a lifestyle brand under Tapestry by Hilton in Boston.
Key Responsibilities- Generate and manage group business opportunities that drive room revenue, meeting space utilization, and overall hotel profitability.
- Prospect, negotiate, close, and grow accounts; serve as strategic partner throughout the sales process.
- Develop and execute strategic sales plan aligned with hotel revenue goals and market positioning.
- Generate group room nights and meeting revenue through outbound sales efforts, networking, and relationship development.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, concessions, and group agreements with strong financial discipline.
- Collaborate with Revenue Management for pricing and inventory management.
- Participate in market blitzes, networking events, trade shows, and local industry events.
- Maintain an active sales pipeline and forecast group business production.
- Conduct property tours and presentations showcasing transformation and lifestyle positioning.
- Build long‑term relationships with planners, event organizers, corporate clients, universities, and local organizations.
- Partner with Conference Services, Operations, and Food & Beverage teams for seamless client experience.
- Monitor production and performance of existing accounts; identify growth opportunities.
- Position the hotel as a leading lifestyle meetings and events destination.
- Stay informed on market trends and competitor activity.
- Collaborate with Marketing for promotional campaigns and sales collateral.
- Represent the hotel within the local hospitality community and industry organizations.
- 3 to 5 years of progressive hotel sales experience focused on group sales, meetings, or event‑driven business in a full‑service hotel environment.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue goals and securing new business opportunities.
- Experience negotiating contracts, managing group blocks, and working within hotel sales systems and CRM platforms.
- Strong presentation, communication, and relationship‑building skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining strong attention to detail and responsiveness.
- Proficiency with hotel sales systems such as Delphi, CI/TY, Salesforce, STR, or equivalent platforms.
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings, weekends, and networking events as required.
- Experience working within a lifestyle, boutique, or design‑forward hotel environment.
- Existing relationships within the Boston corporate, association, university, or social event market.
- Experience supporting hotel transitions, rebrands, or repositioning efforts.
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Marketing, Business Administration, or related field.
- Passion for hospitality, guest experience, relationship‑building, and modern lifestyle branding.
