Position: Account Executive, Portfolio Manager (Northeast)

Job Summary

The Account Executive, Portfolio Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with key decision makers that lead to future business opportunities. This role focuses on Acute Hospitals and Integrated Delivery Networks (IDNs) in the Northeast United States, covering New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine.

Location:

Boston or New York City.

Salary Range: $100,000 – $120,000 per year base, plus eligibility for the Sales IV Therapy compensation plan with an annual target of $75,000. The position may also receive a company vehicle. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, 401(k) with company contribution, and a wellness program.

Responsibilities
  • Achieve territory sales quota for the Fresenius Kabi Infusion Delivery product line, focusing on Portfolio Contracting, IV solutions, Drug Delivery, dedicated and nondedicated IV sets.
  • Maintain high technical and commercial competence on products, technologies, and services; demonstrate expertise and establish credibility with clinical and executive decision makers.
  • Utilize a consultative process and value‑based selling technique to address specific customer needs.
  • Demonstrate clinical understanding of competing products and position Fresenius Kabi’s offering strategically.
  • Lead effective business discussions with economic buyers and high‑level contacts; demonstrate the financial and clinical ROI of a solution.
  • Show in‑depth knowledge of the assigned territory, customer base, contracts, competitive products, and distribution models.
  • Develop a comprehensive territory‑specific business plan with strategies and tactics to achieve quarterly sales goals.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities within the territory.
  • Plan, prospect, prioritize, monitor, and forecast sales opportunities systematically.
  • Participate in product implementation of all Infusion Therapy products as requested.
  • Support implementation and management of new accounts, including willingness to travel outside the assigned territory to meet corporate objectives.
  • Build strategic customer relationships to drive the purchase of Fresenius Kabi products while maintaining high customer satisfaction.
  • Communicate with managers and align sales efforts with company and regional targets.
  • Apply a total account management perspective, leverage resources, and articulate the value proposition for each customer.
  • Understand and communicate market dynamics and healthcare trends.
  • Complete all required training, including department‑specific and compliance training.
  • Participate in reasonable work activities as assigned by management.
  • Ensure compliance with company documents, programs, and activities related to Health, Safety, Environment, Energy, and Quality Management Systems.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree required;
    Master’s or advanced degree preferred.
  • At least 8 years of experience in the healthcare industry; medical sales experience highly preferred.
  • Strong business acumen with excellent negotiation, communication, business planning, and sales strategy development skills.
  • Demonstrated success in a consultative selling role, including questioning, listening, managing call dynamics, managing objections, and closing for next steps.
  • Solid influencing skills accompanied by outstanding selling and presentation skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Experience with ERPs (SAP preferred), CRMs ( preferred) and other database concepts.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel frequently by car or public transportation; travel can exceed 50% of the time.
  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • Flexibility to work non‑standard hours and weekends to meet business and customer needs.
  • Positive, service‑oriented attitude and ability to work effectively with all employees and external contacts.
  • Maintain complete confidentiality and discretion in business relationships, exercising sound business judgment.
