Strategic Account Director – Sales (NY)
We are looking to hire a Strategic Account Director to join our Sales team in NY.
Salary range: $104,000- $115,000 + uncapped commission structure.
This role is office based out of our NY or LA office.
Role OverviewIn this role, you will be fully embedded within your customer teams, acting as a trusted partner to help them expand their business. Your primary focus will be renewing subscription contracts, delivering monthly high growth within accounts across our diverse product offerings, and identifying strategic consultancy opportunities to drive revenue and growth.
As a Strategic Account Director, you’ll be responsible for managing a portfolio of top growth and strategic accounts, uncovering consultancy opportunities, and fostering long‑term client relationships in North America. You’ll leverage your sales expertise to negotiate and close business deals while staying ahead of market conditions.
Using a consultative sales approach, you’ll design and execute tailored strategies to meet clients’ needs and contribute to achieving ambitious sales goals.
Key Accountabilities- Own the sales cycle: manage annual contract renewals and uncover new business opportunities within your assigned book of accounts. Lead every stage of the sales process – qualifying prospects, delivering sales pitches and presentations, negotiating contracts, navigating legal and procurement discussions, updating the salesforce pipeline daily and closing deals to ensure client satisfaction and continued growth.
- Consistently hit and exceed targets in a fast‑paced, target‑driven environment.
- Grow and nurture client relationships, managing a value‑based book of business across key accounts and driving client usage and adoption.
- Deliver high‑impact presentations as the voice of WGSN to clients and prospects across key industries.
- Drive strategic partnerships for revenue growth by understanding client needs, identifying expansion opportunities, and positioning WGSN as a trusted partner.
- Collaborate across the sales team and supporting roles to identify cross‑selling opportunities for additional products.
- Build relationships across client teams, including senior‑level relationships with decision makers.
- Maintain in‑office presence (3 days per week) and travel as required (20% travel or as needed).
- Proven sales expertise: minimum 6+ years in sales or account management, selling to key decision makers and negotiating contracts in a B2B environment;
Fortune 500 experience highly desirable. - Track record of success: demonstrable history of exceeding sales targets, especially in subscription‑based environments.
- Client relationship building: expertise in nurturing high‑level executive relationships and acting as a trusted advisor.
- Excellent communication skills: strong ability to present and sell services through proposals, presentations, phone calls, and case studies.
- Salesforce CRM experience: proficiency in using Salesforce (or similar CRM tools) to manage pipelines, track leads, and maintain client relationships.
- Results‑oriented mindset: thrive in a KPI‑driven environment, managing multiple accounts and priorities while keeping client satisfaction at the forefront.
