About Us
Rho is the modern banking platform built for startups. Open accounts in minutes, issue cards, manage expenses, pay bills, and close the books – all in one connected platform backed by real human support.
About the RoleWe're hiring a Senior Marketing Manager to own Rho's presence in Boston: community, partnerships, brand, demand, and customer growth. You'll own a pipeline number, a real budget, and a tight partnership with our local sales rep. You'll be on the ground - meeting with VCs, visiting customer offices, showing up where it matters.
Boston's founder ecosystem is distinctive - biotech and life sciences alongside deep tech, AI, and infrastructure, with deep roots in MIT, Harvard, and the research networks around them. The founders building here are technical, often research-driven, and don't always respond to the approaches that work elsewhere.
We have an early start. Now time to help us grow it.
What You'll DoOwn the pipeline number. Sourced pipeline, startup customers, attribution in Salesforce. You set the targets and drive them through every motion you run.
Grow our Boston customer count. Identify and close expansion opportunities within our existing base, run in-person touches with high‑value accounts, and host customer‑only gatherings that deepen relationships and surface new ones.
Partner with our Boston sales rep. You generate demand and build relationships; together you close. Tight collaboration on targeting, follow‑up, and account coverage.
Get out in the market. Meet with VCs and accelerators. Visit customer offices. Show up at the right events. This is not a desk job.
Build founder community. Host the events founders actually want to attend - round tables and lab tours for research‑driven founders, dinners and salons for operators across sectors. Curate every guest list. Become a connector.
Own university and campus partnerships. Build direct relationships with Harvard iLab, MIT Martin Trust Center, and the programs that feed Boston's founder pipeline.
Own how Rho shows up in market. Sponsor ships, local press, activations, founder content. Partner with our brand and creative team to execute.
Run local growth experiments. Geo‑targeted paid, branded search, ABM into top Boston accounts, lifecycle nurture tailored to Boston founders.
Define your own approach. No established playbook. You decide what works, run it, and document what you learn.
6+ years of experience across marketing, community, partnerships, brand, or growth at a venture‑backed company. B2B SaaS, fintech, biotech, or life sciences are all strong fits.
High agency. You don't wait to be told what to do. You form a point of view, act on it, and adjust. The VP of Marketing can be a thought partner, but can't be your operating system.
A track record of growing something - a business, a product line, a market, a community. You can point to before and after and explain what you did to move it.
Genuinely comfortable being out in the market. Meeting with VCs, visiting customer offices, building relationships face to face. You'd rather be in a founder's office than on a Zoom.
Sociable and naturally good with people. Event marketing is a core part of how Rho builds in market, and you're the kind of person founders actually want to spend time with.
Comfortable with data and finance. You can read a pipeline dashboard, run a budget, interpret a growth experiment, and talk credibly with finance‑minded founders. You don't need a data team to tell you how things are going.
A real network in the Boston founder, operator, or VC community - or a clear and credible plan to build it fast.
Comfort with pipeline accountability. You've owned a number. You know what sourced pipeline means and how to drive it.
Proven ability to host events founders actually want to attend and to build personal relationships that compound over time.
Strong CRM hygiene. You log relationships and touchpoints in Salesforce without being asked.
Excellent written and verbal communication. You can run a room of 30 founders and brief a marketing team on what you're seeing in market.
Entrepreneurial and scrappy. You can spin up a dinner, follow up with…
