Summary

Sr Key Account Manager – The Sr. KAM is a salesperson responsible for meeting sales quotas and expense budgets for assigned clients by managing sales programs, promotional spending, distribution levels, shelf placement and strategic planning initiatives. Our clients are manufacturers, vendors, or brands that have contracted Advantage as their sales force. Our customers are retailers, wholesalers or distributors, to whom we sell our clients' brands.

The teammate collaborates with clients to develop strategic plans to achieve business goals and works with retailer associates on headquarter calls to implement the programs.

The Sr. KAM owns the relationship with our clients, making decisions regarding spending of trade funds to drive increased sales, signing, implementing and executing contracts on our clients' behalf. The position works closely with internal Advantage Solutions associates such as Customer Managers and order entry, claims, category management, schematics and retail associates to increase sales volume within a market. The incumbent may be dedicated to servicing one or multiple clients’ goals while also encompassing customer relations and implementation.

Clients include Pioneering, Regional or Tier 3 manufacturers.

Responsibilities
  • Drive client business at assigned customers, increasing distribution and sales while staying on spend.
  • Ensure retail/merchandising and basic eCommerce execution.
  • Achieve P&L targets and manage business for each assigned client.
  • Implement marketing strategies, analyze trends, and achieve department/client income and expense goals.
  • Monitor and drive revenue growth through efficient management of promotional spending within guidelines.
  • Meet or exceed clients’ goals for sales, distribution, pricing, shelving and promotional volume.
  • Provide standard services to support the customer‑client relationship.
  • Launch strategies to pursue new opportunities.
  • Manage manufacturer marketing/promotional funds to achieve sales goals within financial guidelines.
  • Secure client‑approved schematics for all brand lines, coordinating with schematic, reset and retail departments.
  • Conduct customer headquarter calls and penetrate key retailer positions.
  • Organize the business unit team to retain and expand client relationships.
  • Facilitate communication, opportunities, challenges and workflow to other team members and attend all client meetings and reviews.
Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Business. 8+ years of applicable experience.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong sales presentation and development skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Well‑organized, detail‑oriented, and able to handle a fast‑paced work environment.
  • Track record of building and maintaining customer/client relationships.
  • Working knowledge of syndicated data.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook) and web browsers.

Travel up to 20%.

Physical Requirements

Primarily office environment. Must sit for extended periods (66%+ of each day), hear telephone calls, enter data on a computer, and may lift up to 10 lbs.
