We give sellers the tools to sell online, manage inventory, offer buy‑now, pay‑later, book appointments, engage customers, and hire and pay staff—all while embedding financial services at the point of sale.
The RoleSquare is hiring a Territory Account Executive for our newly established field sales organization. The role is hunters‑only and field‑based, focused on restaurants, retailers, and service‑based businesses in high‑potential markets. You will develop and execute a local strategy to win market share, build a sustainable pipeline, and accelerate Square’s brand awareness in the community.
You Will- Sell into your market in‑person, performing discovery and demos 80% of the time to build interest and close sales of Square’s ecosystem.
- Maintain relationships with active Square sellers, monitor account health, and generate referrals.
- Partner with onboarding teams to ensure successful implementation for new sellers.
- Build a top‑of‑funnel pipeline, walking the city 50–60 drop‑ins a week and creating referral channels with existing sellers and local partners.
- Demonstrate proficiency in demoing and onboarding Square hardware and software solutions.
- Collaborate with the channel sales team to identify complementary partners and expand referral networks.
- Understand the business and technology needs of restaurants, retail, and services.
- Achieve and exceed monthly sales goals and KPIs.
- Utilize Salesforce to track, monitor, and report sales activities, pipeline status, and outcomes.
- 2+ years of full‑cycle closing experience in a direct field sales role.
- Experience exceeding sales targets, selling a diverse ecosystem of products, and closing complex deals.
- Ability to drive deals independently in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
- Business development experience, including hunting and cold‑calling.
- Reliable transportation and live in or near the market you serve.
- A collaborative, team‑player mentality.
- Prior Salesforce experience or equivalent.
- Even better:
- 2+ years of payment processing or related technology (e.g., payroll, loyalty, time management).
- 1+ years of relevant audience experience with restaurants, retailers, or service‑based businesses.
Block uses a market‑based approach to pay. Pay varies by U.S. zone based on local cost of labor and candidate qualifications. The starting pay ranges are:
Zone A: $148,700 – $223,100
Zone B: $138,300 – $207,500
Zone C: $130,900 – $196,300
Zone D: $123,400 – $185,200
These ranges include target variable compensation.
