Position: Territory Account Executive, Boston Boston, MA, US

Square is looking for a Territory Account Executive to join our newly established field sales organization. This individual contributor sales role will engage with restaurants, retailers, and service‑based businesses in our largest and highest potential markets. The role is hunter‑type and field based, requiring extensive in‑person client interactions.

Responsibilities
  • Sell face‑to‑face (80% of the time) to source leads, perform discovery and demos to generate interest and close deals within our Square ecosystem.
  • Maintain relationship with active Square sellers, monitor account health, and generate referrals.
  • Collaborate with onboarding teams to ensure successful implementation.
  • Build a sustainable top‑of‑funnel pipeline through walks, drop‑ins, referral channels, strategic partnerships, and community associations.
  • Demonstrate and demo Square hardware and software solutions.
  • Partner with channel sales to identify complementary partners and grow the referral channel.
  • Understand business and technology needs across restaurants, retail, and services.
  • Achieve and exceed monthly sales goals and KPIs.
  • Use Salesforce to track, monitor, and report on sales activities, pipeline, and outcomes.
Qualifications
  • 2+ years of full‑cycle sales experience with direct field sales.
  • Track record of exceeding sales targets, selling a diverse ecosystem, and closing complex deals.
  • Independent deal‑driving in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Experience in business development, hunting, and cold calling.
  • Reliable transportation and residing in or near the service market.
  • Collaborative team player mentality.
  • Prior Salesforce experience or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of payment processing or related technology (e.g., payroll, loyalty, time‑management).
  • 1+ year relevant experience selling to restaurants, retailers, or services businesses.
Pay Transparency

Zone A: $148,700 – $223,100
Zone B: $138,300 – $207,500
Zone C: $130,900 – $196,300
Zone D: $123,400 – $185,200
