CRO Business Development Manager

Job Description

Rapidly growing East Coast CRO drug testing research organization is looking for a Business Development Manager (5 to 10 years' experience) to advance their already very successful R&D services. Position is remote, but you must be based in Boston.

Also involves travel. Reports to a VP. NB – This position focuses on selling services, not products. Salary commensurate with level of experience. Not a role for new grads.

• Business development and meet set targets within the industry.
• Expand the client base as well as manage and grow existing accounts.
• Leverage personal industry contacts to enable new leads and growth.
• Collaborate with scientific team to determine the appropriateness of new opportunities.
• Provide presentations to clients on site or at trade shows.
• Selling services, not products.
• Perform sales activities, including managing customer meetings, preparing proposals and contracts, negotiating sales and budgets, attending trade shows and conferences, and monitoring customer satisfaction.
• Efficient use of contact CRMs, communications, letters, and emails.

• BS/B.Sc. or higher in Biology, Pharmacology, Toxicology, Physiology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry/Life Sciences, or related field. Any sales or formal management training is an asset.
• Over 5 years of experience in business development within healthcare/biotechnology, medical device, or pharmaceutical. CRO experience strongly preferred.
• Senior (over 10 years) preferred but less experience considered.
• Knowledge of pharmacology, toxicology, ADME, PK/PD, testing of vaccines, biologics, small molecules, in vivo and in vitro testing is welcome.
• Proven track record of increasing sales and growing customer base.
• Pertinent contact list attractive.
• Located in Boston, MA.
• Up to 50% overnight travel required; appropriate passport needed for travel outside USA.
• Driver's license.
• Strong, clear English communication skills.
• Visas not covered.

Annual Salary: $110,000 - $130,000 USD.
