We are searching for the best talent for an Area Sales Manager for Ottava. This field-based role is available in Boston, Massachusetts.

Purpose

As an Area Sales Manager (ASM), the incumbent will serve as the point person for end‑to‑end commercialization, including sales, support, and capital program management for Ottava. The ASM will be primarily responsible for accessing and developing and executing business clinical champions and engaging directly with clinicians, other J&J Med Tech team members, and C‑Suite stakeholders within target accounts. Responsibilities include leading clinical and technical product discussions, managing product demonstrations, providing financing and capital‑equipment options, and supporting post‑sales adoption and utilization.

will be responsible for
  • Developing and executing quarterly business plans to achieve capital equipment and disposable sales revenue targets within the assigned territory.
  • Conducting discovery presentations with clinicians and supporting broader stakeholder engagement using a Challenger selling framework.
  • Engaging C‑Suite stakeholders, leveraging clinical champion relationships, and collaborating with administrative assistants.
  • Maintaining comprehensive account goal and needs understanding across all relevant stakeholders.
  • Presenting, educating, and challenging stakeholders in complex sales and boardroom environments.
  • Updating a strategic business plan for the territory and presenting realistic sales forecasts to management.
  • Developing relationships with clinical and economic champions at new and existing customers to understand the capital buying cycle and financing options.
  • Leading product technical and clinical demonstrations.
  • Negotiating capital pricing and program performance terms with customers in collaboration with sales management.
  • Implementing post‑sales installation, implementation, and adoption protocols with sales and service teams.
  • Supporting new customers’ clinical adoption of Ottava and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Maintaining expert knowledge of Ottava products and industry market trends.
Qualifications / Requirements
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree.
  • Minimum of 6 years of relevant healthcare experience and at least 3 years in capital sales.
  • Proven ability to learn and communicate technical product and clinical knowledge to physicians and economic buyers.
  • Must be able to travel extensively (up to 75%) and work in hospital and ASC settings, including live patient cases and necessary protective gear.
  • Self‑starter who performs autonomously and excels in high‑pressure environments.
  • Strong teamwork and knowledge‑sharing capabilities with sales management and peers.
  • Receptive to constructive feedback and able to collaborate in a matrix team environment.
  • Ability to articulate customer needs and feedback organization‑wide.
  • Highly organized with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication at high frequency with sales management and broader organization.
  • Experience working in regulated environments compliant with ISO

Compensation & Benefits

The base pay is $180,000 annually. The company offers a highly competitive MBO program and long‑term incentive program.
