Job Description & How to Apply Below

Your Role:
Driving Group Revenue & Building Market Presence

As Group Sales Manager, you will be responsible for generating and managing group business opportunities that drive room revenue, meeting space utilization, and overall hotel profitability.

You will actively prospect, negotiate, close, and grow accounts while serving as a strategic partner to meeting planners, organizations, and clients throughout the sales process.

This role requires both strong sales discipline and the ability to bring the lifestyle brand story to life in every client interaction.

Revenue Generation & Sales Strategy
  • Prospect and secure new group business opportunities including corporate meetings, association groups, SMERF, university partnerships, sports travel, and social events.
  • Develop and execute a strategic sales plan aligned with overall hotel revenue goals and market positioning.
  • Generate group room nights and meeting revenue through proactive outbound sales efforts, networking, and relationship development.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, concessions, and group agreements with strong financial discipline while protecting overall hotel profitability.
  • Collaborate closely with Revenue Management to ensure strategic pricing and inventory management for group business opportunities.
  • Participate in market blitzes, networking events, trade shows, and local industry events to increase visibility and drive lead generation.
  • Maintain an active sales pipeline and accurately forecast group business production.
Client Relationships & Event Partnership
  • Serve as the primary sales contact for assigned accounts and group opportunities from initial inquiry through contract execution.
  • Conduct engaging property tours and presentations that showcase the hotel’s transformation and lifestyle positioning.
  • Build strong long‑term relationships with meeting planners, event organizers, corporate clients, universities, and local organizations.
  • Partner closely with Conference Services, Operations, and Food & Beverage teams to ensure a seamless client experience from booking through execution.
  • Maintain consistent communication with clients to strengthen retention and repeat business opportunities.
  • Monitor production and performance of existing accounts and identify opportunities for growth and expansion.
Market Intelligence & Brand Positioning
  • Position the hotel as a leading lifestyle meetings and events destination within the Boston market.
  • Stay informed on market trends, competitor activity, and evolving group travel expectations.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to support promotional campaigns, sales collateral, and group/event‑focused initiatives.
  • Represent the hotel professionally within the local hospitality community and industry organizations.
  • Help shape the property’s reputation as a fresh, experience‑driven alternative to traditional meeting hotels.
Who You Are

You are relationship‑driven, proactive, and energized by building business. You understand that successful hospitality sales today is not transactional, it is consultative.

You know how to build trust with planners, identify client needs, and position experiences instead of simply selling space. You are organized, competitive, and strategic, but also personable enough to turn a first meeting into a long‑term partnership.

Most importantly, you understand the opportunity that comes with selling a newly transformed lifestyle property during a major brand evolution.

Required Qualifications
  • 3 to 5 years of progressive hotel sales experience with a focus on group sales, meetings, or event‑driven business in a full‑service hotel environment.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue goals and securing new business opportunities.
  • Experience negotiating contracts, managing group blocks, and working within hotel sales systems and CRM platforms.
  • Strong presentation, communication, and relationship‑building skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining strong attention to detail and responsiveness.
  • Proficiency with hotel sales systems such as Delphi, CI/TY, Salesforce, STR, or equivalent platforms.
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings, weekends, and networking events as business demands…
