DCIO Specialist

Nuveen, as the asset manager of TIAA, has been one of the fastest growing firms in the defined contribution market with top performing target date funds and industry leading in‑plan annuity embedded retirement solutions. To advance our firm’s growth strategy, Nuveen Retirement Investing (NRI) is seeking highly self‑motivated, resilient & goal‑oriented NRI Internal Sales Associates to join our team.

The primary responsibility of the NRI Internal Sales Associate is to partner with the NRI external sales team to identify, prospect, nurture, grow, and close opportunities to sell industry‑leading Nuveen retirement products to retirement plan advisors & intermediaries, including financial advisors, retirement consultants, and 401(k) record‑keeping wholesalers.

Key Responsibilities and Duties
  • Partner with NRI external sales team to drive NRI asset growth within a defined sales territory
  • Proactively engage with retirement plan advisors, consultants, and 401(k) record‑keeping wholesalers to best serve their clients’ goals – dually identifying, prospecting, nurturing to grow opportunities to position & sell Nuveen retirement products
  • Apply discipline to gather & maintain high quality, accurate CRM (Salesforce) prospect/client pipeline data
  • Coordinate with NRI external sales team to prepare for client meetings & promptly follow through on post‑meeting activities, including but not limited to: managing calendars & meeting invites, managing meeting logistics, coordinating meeting materials, preparing RFI/RFPs, supporting due diligence activities
  • Support NRI external sales team to develop, refine, and execute sales territory plans
  • Stay sharp on industry trends, competitor positioning, market flows & relevant developments to identify new opportunities and adapt territory sales execution accordingly
  • Consistently deploy sales toolkits, advisor reports & analytics, value add programs to maximize value to prospects / clients
  • Collaborate with NRI Internal Sales Associates, Internal Sales Desk Manager, and broader NRI team to share best practices, coach & enable continuous “leveling‑up” high performance across all NRI sales territories
Educational Requirements
  • University Degree Preferred
Work Experience
  • 2+ Years Required; 3+ Years Preferred
FINRA Registrations
  • Series 7;
    Series 63
Physical Requirements
  • Sedentary Work

Qualifications
  • 2+ years experience in internal sales, or supporting external wholesaler, or related domains which make you keenly familiar with target date funds & DC retirement investment products
  • FINRA Series 7 and Series 63
  • State & non‑resident Life & Health insurance license
  • Strong understanding & able to confidently discuss markets, products & performance, portfolio construction
  • Strong presentation skills – Excellent verbal & written communication
  • Accountable, resilient, goal oriented with strong track record to independently execute, balanced with team‑first mindset
  • Potential for occasional travel
