Position Overview

Bayliner, Trophy & Heyday – a leading manufacturer of recreational fiberglass boats – is seeking a District Business Manager. The District Business Manager will determine strategic dealer locations, execute and grow boat sales to meet budgeted goals, and build profitable market share in the Northeast territory (Northern Virginia, West Virginia, Ohio, and Eastern Canada). This role requires approximately 70%–80% travel and active territory management and dealer marketing support.

The ideal candidate will reside within the territory or within a reasonable commuting distance.

Essential Functions
  • Direct sales responsibility for assigned brands within the sales territory.
  • Meet or exceed sales objectives while maintaining acceptable gross margins.
  • Establish and manage yearly dealer sales targets and provide accurate sales and inventory forecasts.
  • Plan and execute territory sales plans and strategies as part of overall company strategy.
  • Ensure deadlines are met for sales and service agreements, annual planning targets and order dates.
  • Manage the strategic direction of the brands’ dealer network within the territory, identifying white‑space distribution opportunities and developing strategies to correct underperforming dealers.
  • Establish and maximize strong dealer and customer relationships.
  • Assist brands in product development, pricing and retail and wholesale incentive programs.
  • Carry out brand‑specific dealer training programs when required.
  • Provide input into product materials, including catalogs, brochures, website content, boat shows and other marketing events.
  • Assist brands and dealers with event planning and execution, including boat shows, dealer open houses and similar events.
  • Create dealer‑specific marketing plans for each territory, including e‑marketing best practices.
  • Work with internal customer service to monitor and improve dealer CSI and NPS scores.
  • Support communication across Brunswick business units, particularly Mercury Marine and other Brent wave companies.
  • Provide the company with accurate and timely competitive information.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years in sales or sales management, preferably in the marine or power sports industry.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing distribution channels and dealer networks.
  • Experience with territory management and customer call planning.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint; e‑marketing skills a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
  • Understanding of basic financial statements (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).
  • Proficiency with strategic and functional problem analysis and resolution.
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
  • Willingness to travel up to 70%–80%.
  • Valid passport required or willingness to obtain one upon hire.

Compensation

The anticipated pay range for this position is $84,500 to $123,900 annually. Base pay will vary based on experience, qualifications, business needs, and geographic location. This position is also eligible for a short‑term incentive program.
