RESPONSIBILITIES- Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Director of Sales is an in-person position that has a primary focus on the overall revenue targets and healthy growth of their venues and serves as a positive and motivating leader, educator and mentor of the sales team.
- Reaching and exceeding monthly/quarterly/annual sales revenue targets
- Ensuring your team is hitting their personal revenue goals for current and future years
- Director of Sales is in the lead rotation 1 day per week
- Be the master of pace reporting and yield management for your market while understanding booking trends per market segment
- Ensure the team is handling inquiries according to all Longwood Standards (SOPs)
- Greeting all business opportunities with enthusiasm and drive to sell and mentoring the team to do the same
- Exemplify and teach excellent negotiating skills to strategically contract event minimum and site fee to maximize revenues
- Thoroughly understand value of our products and services- F&B Menus, AV List, Site fees, Ceremony fee & In-house equipment
- Create timely and accurate proposals for the client; listen to their needs and balance with our availability
- Build long lasting business relationships with key accounts, clients, and planners to gain direct repeat business
- Have a deep understanding of core market segments
- Attend networking events to enhance relationships & prospect
- Provide day-to-day leadership and grooming to sales and client concierge team members
- Implement goals and expectations. Manage performance issues with coaching and hold team accountable for results
- Guide and participate in monthly sales department and revenue and strategy meetings
- Develop expert knowledge of the venue(s) positioning in marketplace, seasonality, pricing strategies
- Proven ability to recruit, motivate, train, and retain
- Conduct sales reporting: pace, lead volume, need times, yield management
- Provide accurate monthly forecasting to Executive Team
- Be an active contributor to P&L meetings
- Understand and implement team KPIs
- Schedule tours of the venue that are convenient for the clients and not during another event
- Enbody the leadership of a luxury event professional that is passionate about a hospitable guest experience
- Conduct venue tours for prospective clients follow all Longwood touring standards to showcase the venues
- Deep understanding of the competitive set - Features, Pricing and Offering vs ours, we do not speak negatively
- Create proposals based on clients’ needs and balanced with Longwood standards on successful events
- Create, sign, and send Contracts on Longwood’s behalf
- As an authorized signer, understanding every section; including terms and conditions and contractual clauses is essential
- Reviewing contract clauses and questions with clients; addressing any requested contract changes
- Familiarity with each market segment and the potential contractual concerns
- Maintain accurate client information and bookings through Longwood Standard software programs
- Minimum 3-5 years of catering sales leadership experience in a hotel, convention or private event venue with at least 10,000 square feet of meeting space and the ability to book multiple events simultaneously
- Exceeding team revenue targets of over $6 Million being an active booker alongside your team
- Experience selling multiple Market segments including: weddings, nonprofit and corporate events
- Managing a team of 3 or more managers for 3+ years
- At least 2 years of experience with sales goal and sales pace reports
- Proficient in Computer skills – Microsoft Office
- Require availability to work flexible hours and weekends
- Exceptional organizational, multi-tasking, written & verbal communication skills
- Collaborate with all departments and foster team environment
