We are working with a leading international manufacturer of high-performance carbide cutting tools and machining solutions to appoint a Technical Sales Manager for its New England territory.
The company is recognised for its precision-engineered tooling, technical expertise and innovative solutions for challenging machining applications, including stainless steels, titanium, Inconel, ostalloy and heat-resistant alloys.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced cutting-tool professional to take ownership of an established territory, develop new business and provide technical support to customers and distribution partners.
RoleAs Technical Sales Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Developing sales across the New England territory.
- Managing and expanding relationships with existing customers, prospects and distribution partners.
- Promoting and selling standard and bespoke cutting tools.
- Identifying and securing new business opportunities.
- Visiting customers and sales partners regularly.
- Providing technical advice and application support.
- Delivering product training and organising technical seminars.
- Preparing quotations for standard and special tools.
- Liaising with internal technical teams to resolve customer queries.
- Maintaining accurate customer and sales activity records within the CRM system.
The successful candidate will have:
- Proven experience in cutting-tool technology or a closely related machining environment.
- Strong knowledge of metallurgy, metal alloys and carbide tooling.
- Practical experience with machining processes such as drilling, milling, reaming and deburring.
- The ability to interpret technical drawings and communicate machining concepts effectively.
- A mechanical engineering education or equivalent technical experience.
- Strong commercial awareness and excellent communication skills.
- A systematic and analytical approach to technical problem-solving.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Professional fluency in English.
- The flexibility and willingness to travel extensively throughout the territory.
