A great place to learn a business - and build what comes next.
CARU Containers is a global reseller of new and used shipping containers, working directly with wholesalers across North America and around the world. We're a 70+ person global company with a close-knit team of 11 at our North American headquarters.
We're looking for a Sales Coordinator to sit at the intersection of our Sales, Operations, Supply and Inventory teams. You'll help keep orders moving, solve customer issues and make sure the right people have the right information to make good decisions. You'll get broad exposure to how our business works.
What You'll Do- You'll become a key link between our customers and our commercial and operational teams. Your responsibilities will include:
- Coordinate customer and order needs across all four teams
- Track container availability and match orders to the best depot
- Manage aging orders with customers, our Sales team and container depots
- Troubleshoot pickup and depot issues, escalating when needed
- Partner with the Inventory Management team to keep pickups fluid and prevent issues
- Manage order entry for our customers
- Identify recurring problems and help develop better ways of doing things
1-3 years of professional experience is ideal, but it isn't a hard rule. We're more interested in what you've learned, what you can add, how you think and why this opportunity interests you.
You may be a particularly good fit if you:
- Are naturally curious and tend to ask why, not just what
- Enjoy solving problems and figuring things out
- Take ownership of your work and become increasingly self-directed as you learn
- Communicate confidently with customers and coworkers
- Are organized and comfortable managing several priorities at once
- Notice when something could work better - and aren't afraid to suggest how
- Want to understand the business beyond your own job description
Customer-facing experience is valuable, whether it came from an office, sales environment, hospitality, food service or somewhere else entirely. Excel experience is helpful. Shipping container experience is not required.
What You Can Expect From Us- We invest upfront. Expect thorough training so you have the knowledge and context to succeed.
- Independence grows with you. You'll take on more autonomy as you settle in, with the team behind you whenever you need it.
- You'll be in the loop. CARU is family-owned and flat, and information is shared openly across the team.
- You'll see the whole business. You'll work alongside experienced people across functions, see how and why decisions get made, and be encouraged to learn well beyond your own role.
- Hybrid - Mon+Wed in person @ Quincy office/3 days remote
