Job Description
The Process Development Scientific Associate will support pluripotent stem cell process development activities, including stem cell culture maintenance, expansion, and directed differentiation processes. This role will contribute to process optimization and characterization studies while supporting experimental execution in both 2D and 3D cell culture platforms. In addition, the individual will support media preparation, analytical sample generation, and electronic documentation efforts to ensure data integrity and successful cross-functional collaboration within a fast-paced cell therapy development environment.
This position will support the Thursday through Monday shift.
- Support execution of experiments using pluripotent stem cells and directed differentiation process
- Contribute to planning and execution of process development studies.
- Maintain aseptic 2D and 3D pluripotent stem cell culture in various cell culture platforms.
- Formulate media and factors according to established procedures in an aseptic environment.
- Generate samples for analytical assays and coordinate with Analytical team to plan timely analysis.
- Ensure data integrity by timely completion of documentation, including experiment recording in an electronic lab notebook system.
- Contribute to fostering a collaborative working environment and positive team culture.
- Work within departmental teams, support deliverables and participate in team scientific discussions.
- Ensure compliance with lab safety procedures.
- Must have a flexible schedule to work some holidays.
- Experience with 2D and/or 3D mammalian cell culture and aseptic processing, including associated equipment.
- Strong organizational skills and good communication skills to communicate technical and scientific information within a team.
- Ideally, experience with the Sartorius Am system and/or bioreactor platforms.
- Willingness to learn, contribute, and troubleshoot, with a team-oriented attitude.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and to maintain detailed and accurate records and notes.
- Mustbe skilled in the Windows operating system and Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with electronic lab notebook and data management preferred.
A bachelor’s degree in biology, biochemical engineering or related discipline with >1 year of experience.
Contract Length6 months, with the chance to extend.
Pay Range$30/hr.
- $33/hr.
