We are seeking a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) to join us in our Hematology division.
This role serves as the local medical voice of AZ in the disease area of interest and builds a local medical strategy to improve patient care and outcomes in the territory. The MSL is an established field‑based professional with extensive scientific, clinical and therapeutic area expertise responsible for providing medical and scientific support for AstraZeneca’s oncology marketed products, new indications for current products, and compounds in development.
The territory is New England, including Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine and Massachusetts.
What you’ll do- Establish yourself as a trusted scientific advisor, peer and expert by both internal stakeholders and external HCPs.
- Synthesise HCP insights from multiple HCP segments within a region and communicate with internal partners.
- Serve as a point of reference for the integration of science into proposed business strategies, training and resources.
- Synthesise and integrate research and summarise findings in a compelling narrative for various HCP segments.
- Build strong collaboration with key stakeholders across Medical Affairs, Commercial and Development.
- Serve as a lead for clinical trials, research activities and special projects.
- Coach other team members, provide input on MSL training content, assist with MSL onboarding and lead MSLs in their responsibilities for congress scientific coverage and data synthesis support.
- Advanced scientific degree required (e.g., Pharm D, MD/DO, PhD, PA or NP) in a relevant health science or clinical field.
- 2+ years experience as a Medical Science Liaison or relevant experience in the therapeutic area.
- Demonstrated expertise in delivering customer‑related outcomes in a targeted field or territory.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate scientific data to internal and external customers.
- Ability to work independently and in groups.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, initiative and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent project management ability.
- Ability to travel (40–60% by car and plane domestic).
- Doctorate strongly preferred in a health science or clinical discipline.
- Prior Medical Science Liaison experience.
- Oncology experience.
- Hematology experience.
The annual base salary for this position ranges from $174,455 to $261,682, with variability based on market location, job‑related knowledge, skills and experience. In addition, the role offers a short‑term incentive bonus, eligibility to participate in an equity‑based long‑term incentive program (for salaried roles) or to receive a retirement contribution (for hourly roles). Benefits include a qualified retirement program (401(k) plan), paid vacation and holidays, paid leaves, and health benefits covering medical, prescription drug, dental and vision services in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans.
