Description

The Site Lead is the primary front‑line security officer assigned to respond to emergencies using proper tactics, techniques, and procedures within established time constraints. The Site Lead also assists with administrative duties such as correspondence and memos; quality control; record‑keeping and accuracy of training certifications; training scheduling; CPR/first‑aid scheduling; drug test and physical examination scheduling; payroll processing and time reporting; data entry;

and distribution of work schedules.

The pay rate for this position is $26.38 per hour plus $5.75 per hour for health and welfare.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain a complete understanding and proficient ability in all essential duties and responsibilities detailed in the Security Guard I & II job descriptions.
  • Provide guard briefings to incoming officers on current activities and ensure guard knowledge is current.
  • Visit and inspect each guard post within the first 2 hours of the guard shift (unless responding to another incident) and document post visit.
  • Respond as needed to incidents and direct guard response activities.
  • Know all guard posts and site locations, and resolve situations requiring immediate attention or report to appropriate channels.
  • Generate timely and accurate reports required by the contract, including payroll data, training and certification records, personnel records, and event logs.
  • Review investigations of reported incidents to ensure proper notifications are made to client and APSI corporate staff members.
  • Monitor project expenditures, including payroll costs and purchases of supplies, to ensure compliance with the budget.
  • Schedule staff to ensure adequate coverage levels as defined in contract at all times and all job sites.
  • Monitor employee compliance with Ahtna safety, health and HR policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate with APSI Security Division Manager and APSI Human Resources on recruiting, hiring and management of employees to ensure adequate staffing on the project and compliance with HR laws, regulations and bargaining agreements.
  • Ensure staff is trained in the use of appropriate procedures to maintain security of property, equipment and personnel when detaining disruptive individuals using approved restraint techniques.
  • Train staff in all administrative and operational aspects required by the contract.
  • Mentor, train and coach Guards on safety procedures and proper operational protocols.
  • Maintain required activity logs in a legible manner and distribute according to facility procedures and contractual requirements.
  • Issue and log required badges or passes to authorized personnel.
  • Audit and inspect all weapons, gear and equipment issued to subordinate personnel.
  • Follow up on violations to ensure proper procedures were followed.
  • Follow up on reports of facility equipment and utility systems deficiencies and repairs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required by client’s contract.

Supervision

The Site Lead provides guidance to Security Guard I and II personnel and ensures the work performed meets the standards set by both Ahtna and the governmental client.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Education:

    High School diploma or a GED equivalency certificate.
