Join the Public Safety team at Tufts Medical Center and play an essential role in supporting a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, employees, and the community within a leading academic medical center. Public Safety Officers are responsible for maintaining a visible presence throughout the hospital, responding to incidents and emergencies, assisting with de‑escalation efforts, and supporting daily hospital operations with professionalism, strong communication, and customer service.
Our Public Safety team works closely with clinical and operational departments across the organization and is a critical part of ensuring a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment throughout the hospital campus.

JobProfile Summary
This role focuses on preventing workplace accidents and promotes health and safety awareness and education to individuals within the organization. In addition, this role focuses on performing the following Associate Safety related duties:
Prevents workplace accidents and promotes health and safety awareness and education for employees. An organizational related support or service (administrative or clerical) role or a role that focuses on support of daily business activities (e.g., technical, clinical, non‑clinical) operating in a “hands on” environment. The majority of time is spent in the delivery of support services or activities, typically under supervision.
An entry level role that typically requires little to no prior knowledge or experience, work is routine or follows standard procedures, work is closely supervised, and communicates information that requires little explanation or interpretation.
Under general supervision of the supervisor, perform all duties and responsibilities related to the day‑to‑day protection and security of hospital assets and information as well as the safety of all persons on hospital property. Conduct proactive patrols of all hospital buildings and grounds to prevent fire, theft, vandalism, illegal entry, and bodily harm to patients, visitors, and staff. Serve as immediate and first responder to crisis situations on a daily basis and document all safety and security incidents in accordance with department policies and procedures.
