Time Type:
Full time.
Work Shift:
Night (United States of America). FLSA Status:
Non-Exempt.
- Perform repairs and maintenance of heating, cooling and ventilating components common to building operations.
- Operate, install, repair and maintain mechanical equipment such as air handlers, exhaust fans, automatic valves, pneumatic and electrical controls, refrigeration systems, space heating and cooling units.
- Respond to emergencies (e.g., floods, power outages) during off-shift hours as directed by the department supervisor.
- Participate in snow removal as required by the Maintenance Department.
- Complete record-keeping and written reports as part of daily routine.
- Vocational or Technical training in HVAC required.
- Massachusetts Refrigeration Technician License must be obtained within 1 year of hire.
- Certificate 1 CFC Universal Certificate required.
- 3-5 years related work experience required.
- Excellent familiarity with Building Automation Systems.
- Experience with brazing, silver solder and pipe alterations.
- Experience with computer systems, including web-based applications and some Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access).

Ability to analyze varied situations using observation, knowledge and skills based on general precedents. - Independence of Action:
Ability to follow precedents and procedures; set priorities within general guidelines; seek assistance when confronted with difficult situations. - Written and Oral Communications:
Ability to communicate clearly in English with internal and external customers and staff. - Knowledge and Team Work:
Demonstrates working knowledge of standard concepts and collaborates respectfully with others to deliver services. - Customer Service:
Maintains a positive attitude and responds to requests in a timely, respectful manner.
Medium work:
Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently. Employee may need to stand or move around for the majority of the shift.
