Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
The Authority's Mechanical Superintendent may designate various other activities. The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed. - Monitor the conditions of all pipes, fittings, drains, fixtures, water pumps, sprinklers, airlines and gas lines, throughout the facility.
- Provide repairs to all plumbing equipment as required using hand tools, power tools, or other relevant tools and equipment.
- Install new pumping and drainage piping and equipment.
- Install temporary air, gas, and water lines for exhibitions as requested on a timely basis.
- Assist in the testing of the fire pump apparatus.
- Perform all work in accordance with safety procedures and applicable codes.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Building Mechanical Superintendent.
- Prepare and file applications for plumbing permits as required in connection with Building maintenance / repair activities as well as for temporary exhibition related plumbing services.
- Assist other members of the Engineering & Maintenance staff, as needed, in the completion of their required duties.
- Travel to all MCCA Facilities to provide general plumbing repair and installation services.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and 4 years related work experience and/or training must possess ability to work independently. A valid Massachusetts State Plumbers License is required.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock. The employee is frequently exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; and toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

The ability to travel away from home for a few days at a time may be necessary
WORK SCHEDULE: Due to the nature of this work, this department operates 7 days per week 24 hours per day. The employee typically works a fixed or rotating shift consisting of days, nights, weekends and holidays based on the needs of the department. The ability to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, late evenings, weekends and holidays are required.
DRESS CODE: In order to project dignity and decorum expected by the public, appropriate dress and good grooming are expected of all employees, (uniforms are supplied)
