ABOUTYOU
As an Electrician (Bargaining Unit, Local No. 103), you bring a strong sense of responsibility and attention to detail to work that directly impacts public safety and airport operations. You stay calm and reliable in high pressure or emergency situations, apply sound judgment in complex environments, and take pride in doing work correctly the first time. You’re adaptable, collaborative, and comfortable working independently across indoor, outdoor, and airfield settings, often in challenging conditions.
Above all, you understand that your reliability, professionalism, and commitment to standards play a critical role in keeping airport facilities safe, compliant, and operational for travelers, employees, and responders.
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems supporting airport buildings, parking areas, signage, and airfield infrastructure.
- Assess job requirements on site and apply technical expertise to interpret and work from electrical plans and wiring diagrams.
- Assists HVAC mechanics and Technicians in installing and trouble shooting Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning electrical systems.
- Respond to emergency situations in accordance with airport procedures and FAA standards to ensure safe and continuous operations.
- 3-5 years’ experience with low/high voltage systems required.
- Massachusetts Journeyman’s Electrician License required.
- Massachusetts Class D driver s license; ability to obtain Commercial Driver’s License "B" (CDL
B). - Working knowledge of commercial and high voltage switching gear. Knowledge of computer based systems (i.e. card access, airfield lighting control, high voltage switch gear monitoring and control).
