Maintenance & Repair Technician – Town of Barnstable

The Barnstable County Dredge Department is accepting applications for a full‑time Maintenance & Repair Technician role. This is the ultimate “Mac Gyver” job. A high school education and proven experience with diesel, gas and outboard engines, hydraulic/pneumatic equipment, marine electrical systems and welding are required. Work includes maintenance and repair of a wide variety of mechanical equipment used by the department.

• Changing oil
• Replacing fittings
• Managing spare parts
• Other maintenance tasks as needed

• Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation to and from job sites.
• Ability to acquire a Class 2A hydraulic license within first year of employment.
• Must be able to travel to project sites using department vehicles on Cape Cod.
• Must be able to work Saturdays as needed (with overtime during the dredge season September through May).
• Must be able to tolerate conditions on the water, vibrations, heat, confined spaces, and high noise levels.
