We are seeking a reliable and motivated Maintenance Technician to join our property maintenance team. This hands‑on role supports the upkeep, repair, and overall condition of our multi‑family and commercial properties throughout Greater Boston. The ideal candidate is a strong problem‑solver with a broad maintenance skill set who takes pride in maintaining safe, comfortable, and well‑functioning living and working environments.

Position Type / Hours of Work

This is a full‑time, hourly position, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Flexibility for overtime and participation in a 24‑hour on‑call rotation is required, including evenings and weekends as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond promptly to maintenance work orders and service requests across assigned properties.
  • Perform general building maintenance and repairs, including carpentry, drywall, painting, flooring, and minor electrical work.
  • Troubleshoot and repair appliances, fixtures, doors, windows, and hardware.
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure building systems are operating safely and efficiently.
  • Assist with basic plumbing‑related tasks (e.g., fixture replacements, minor leaks, clogged drains) as needed.
  • Complete apartment unit turnovers, ensuring units are clean, functional, and move‑in ready.
  • Maintain accurate records of completed work and communicate repair status with office staff and property management.
  • Assist with seasonal and exterior maintenance, including snow removal, salting, sanding, and grounds upkeep.
  • Identify potential maintenance issues and proactively recommend repairs or improvements.
Requirements
  • Proven hands‑on experience in general maintenance, facilities, or building operations (residential or commercial).
  • Working knowledge of common building systems, tools, and repair techniques.
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues independently and prioritize tasks efficiently.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; trade certifications are a plus but not required.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Comfortable using a smartphone for work orders, communication, and photo documentation.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 100 lbs safely and perform physical labor, including bending, climbing, kneeling, and crawling.
  • Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, ladders, and maintenance equipment.
