Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, HVAC Tech / Heating Engineer
Responsibilities
Install, maintain, service and troubleshoot new and existing commercial, industrial, clinical and laboratory electrical systems and components. Provide evaluations and recommendations for electrical preventive maintenance program to keep services up to date and in compliance. Install and troubleshoot building controls, etc. Prepare stock orders for purchasing. Answer emergency mechanical system calls. Resolve minor plumbing, HVAC, and maintenance issues to support facility needs.
Follow department and University policies and procedures. Perform all other duties as assigned.
- Must have a valid Massachusetts electrician license with 7+ years of experience in commercial or industrial facilities maintenance.
- Experience working on renovation projects preferred.
- Working knowledge to handle basic plumbing, HVAC, and maintenance issues.
- Knowledge of Building Automation Systems.
- Physical ability to tour buildings, access confined and overhead spaces, walk stairs, work from ladders, and lift heavy items up to 50 lbs.
- Must have own set of hand tools.
- Ability to speak, read, comprehend, and write fluently in English.
- Must successfully pass background check as determined by the University at the time of hire and continue to meet standards throughout employment.
- Master Electrician License required.
- Plumbers License / Sprinkler Fitters License / HVAC experience.
- Fire Alarm License.
- Certificate in BAS controls.
