Job DescriptionThe Omni Boston Hotel at the Seaport is located in the center of the bustling Seaport District. The hotel offers 1,054 guestrooms with 52 suites, seven dining experiences, a rooftop pool, a luxury Breve Spa, and more than 100,000 square feet of meeting and event space to provide guests with a memorable experience. The team was voted “2023 Best Places to Work” by the Boston Business Journal.
Creativity is encouraged in all roles across the hotel, and constraints are used to push creativity forward. The HVAC Technician is responsible for maintaining, installing and repairing HVAC/R equipment. The Refrigeration/HVAC Technician focuses on delivering quality service that exceeds guest and member expectations and helps create guests for life by upholding service standards and safety regulations.
- Assemble, install, test, and maintain HVAC/R equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools.
- Complete tasks assigned through the work order process.
- Diagnose malfunctioning systems and components using test equipment and hand tools to locate and correct problems.
- Inspect HVAC/R systems to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, ensuring compliance with codes.
- Work with each department to ensure emergency and safety work orders are handled promptly.
- Conduct daily walk-throughs of all mechanical rooms to identify and correct potential problems.
- Update and order parts for an inventory of parts used for above equipment.
- Maintain an accurate repair log and parts inventory.
- Maintain a safe work environment and practice safety procedures.
- Relay pertinent information to management.
- Turn in daily time tickets.
- Maintain a positive teamwork attitude and keep work areas clean.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Must have 5 years of commercial HVAC/R experience.
- Trade school diploma in air conditioning and refrigeration required.
- Must be 18 years of age.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and meet company MVR requirements.
- BOMA Certification preferred; CFC certification required.
- HVAC license required.
- Must have 3 years of prior guest service experience, preferably in hotels.
- Maintain a professional appearance, attitude, and performance.
- Must be able to work outside and may be subject to varying weather conditions, including cold, heat, humidity, precipitation, wind, noise, and vibration.
