FIBER OPTIC SPLICING TECHNICIAN - United States (Experienced)

As we expand our U.S. operations, we are seeking experienced aerial Fiber Optic Splicer Technicians to join our growing field operations team. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity for skilled professionals looking to build long-term careers in a high-demand industry.

Position Overview

Fiber Optic Splicer Technicians are responsible for all aspects of fiber splicing and testing, including cable preparation, fusion splicing, termination, troubleshooting, and documentation. This role requires travel to project sites, working at heights and on ladders, and the ability to work in various outdoor and industrial environments.

This role requires regular rotational travel to project sites.
Company‑paid lodging and daily per diem are provided while traveling.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Drive a company vehicle dispatched to various sites as required
  • Splice aerial and underground fiber optic cables in outside plant (OSP) environments
  • Perform single-fiber and mass fusion splicing
  • Test, troubleshoot, and certify fiber optic networks using industry-standard tools
  • Accurately document splice records, test results, and completed work
  • Maintain project-related and safety documentation
  • Work off ladders
  • Read work plans/design drawings/blueprints / maps
  • Follow company safety policies and site-specific requirements
Knowledge and Skills
  • Ability to work at heights, use ladders, work in confined spaces, and in all weather conditions
  • Strong manual dexterity and hand‑eye coordination
  • Physically capable of lifting, carrying, and handling heavy equipment, including ladders
  • Ability to climb ladders and work on poles or aerial platforms
  • Comfortable working in remote locations or isolated environments
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Self‑motivated, reliable, and able to work independently or as part of a crew
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with repetitive tasks and project deadlines
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient with Internet, Outlook, and able to learn mobile applications
  • Safety‑focused with adherence to safety procedures and requirements
Additional Requirements
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license with acceptable driving record
  • CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) preferred; willingness to obtain CDL or air brake endorsement is an asset
  • Willingness to travel extensively and work a minimum of 40 hours per week
  • Availability for rotational scheduling, overtime, or emergency callouts as required
  • Ability to pass a background check and any site‑specific screening requirements
  • Authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship
Experience Required
  • 1+ years of fiber optic splicing experience (feeder and distribution)
  • Experience with outside plant (OSP) fiber networks
  • Proficient with fiber testing equipment, including:
    • OTDR
    • Power Meter
    • Live Fiber Identifiers
  • Experience working off ladders or aerial equipment required
  • Experience with FTTx / FTTH projects preferred
Compensation and Benefits
