HVAC Controls Technician II – Building Automation Systems (BAS)
Location:
Boston, MA
We are looking for an HVAC Controls Technician II to support BAS installations, programming, and service, ensuring the delivery of high‑quality digital control systems to our customers.
Responsibilities- Provide responsive and professional customer service, building and maintaining long‑term customer relationships.
- Identify, analyze, diagnose and troubleshoot direct digital control systems.
- Perform preventative maintenance, commissioning, and replacement modifications as needed or requested by customers.
- Maintain building automation systems by inspecting trend logs, reports, schedules, applications, hardware, and programming.
- Provide technical support to HVAC technicians.
- Create and/or implement programming and graphics for new installations and retrofit projects.
- Commission controls installations and verify that control sequences meet scope, design, or specifications.
- Provide training and follow‑ups for customers and operations personnel.
- Complete work orders and review them with customers for accuracy.
- Continuously look for ways to improve processes and enhance customer service.
- Factory Certified Training, Online Training Courses, or other professional training in the HVAC industry.

- High School Diploma or GED.
- 3+ years of related experience with increasing responsibility.
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs with or without accommodation.
- Required license(s) and/or training card as required by local law district.
- Current first aid / CPR card.
- Experience in BAS, HVAC, or related industry.
- Proficiency with test instruments and calibration tools.
- Competency in operation of engineering/commissioning tools, DDC controllers and field devices.
- Fundamentals of BACnet protocol.
- Operation of HVAC equipment and controls.
- Understanding of written sequences of operations.
- Reading of low‑voltage wiring diagrams and controls flow diagrams.
- Niagara AX and/or Niagara 4 certification.
- Experience with integration protocols (BACnet MST/IP, LON, Modbus TCP/RTU, Ethernet OIP, MQTT, or SQL).
- Strong computer skills, including computer networking fundamentals.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Customer‑focused, results‑oriented professional with strong teamwork.
- Motivated self‑starter who demonstrates initiative.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and stay organized.
The typical hourly pay rate for this position ranges from $37.90 to $60.46 in MA, depending on skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
