Job Responsibilities
Under supervision, performs carpentry repair and construction work of average difficulty on buildings and equipment, and does related work as required.
Repairs desks, tables, chairs, cabinets, and other office furniture; makes and repairs boxes, horses, cases, signboards, barricades, fences, sash and window frames, and other wooden equipment. Repairs buildings, doors, windows, floors. Makes repairs to swimming pools. Does some concrete work and glazing. Does repair work on wooden bridges and drain boxes. Builds and does repair work on truck bodies. When assigned, works underground installing and repairing sewer gates.
Good knowledge of the tools, materials and equipment used in ordinary carpentry work; good knowledge of the objectives and standards of the work. Skill in handling tools and equipment used in the trade; ability to work from rough sketches. Must be a resident of the city of Boston.
Qualifications- Minimum 2 years of experience in related work within the 10-year period immediately prior to application.
