Immediate Openings for Experienced Field Welders Across New England

Local 56 is actively seeking highly skilled welders to join our workforce on major infrastructure, bridge, marine, and heavy civil construction projects throughout New England. If you have field welding experience and current certifications, we want to hear from you.

Required Certifications

  • SMAW (Stick Welding)
  • AWS D1.1 Structural Welding Certification
  • AWS D1.5 Bridge Welding Certification
  • 3G and 4G Welding Certifications

Why the MassDOT Green Card Matters

A current MassDOT Green Card demonstrates your qualification to perform field welding on bridge and transportation projects. This credential is recognized throughout the heavy civil and bridge construction industry and confirms your welding process, position, and material qualifications.

Local 56 welders work on some of the region's most important construction projects, including:

  • Bridge Construction & Rehabilitation
  • Marine & Waterfront Construction
  • Docks & Piers
  • Heavy Civil Infrastructure Projects
  • Offshore Wind Projects
  • Pile Driving Operations

Ideal Candidates Have

  • Current Stick (SMAW) and/or Wire Feed (FCAW) certifications
  • Current 3G and 4G welding qualifications
  • AWS D1.1 and/or D1.5 certifications
  • Bridge, structural steel, marine, or heavy civil welding experience
  • Field welding experience (preferred)
  • Ability and willingness to travel throughout New England
