Facilities Technician

The Facilities department seeks a Facilities Technician to assist in the operations, maintenance, and repairs to the University’s buildings and grounds as well as light HVAC repairs. The typical work schedule is an 8-hour shift during a 40-hour work week. Some overtime required.

• Responsible for general maintenance including painting
• Completes facilities work and room set‑ups initiated by faculty, staff, and students
• Troubleshoots, repairs and maintains the building systems and facilities as required
• Assists with the completion of small‑scale carpentry projects
• Performs repairs of doors, hardware, and basic locksmith tasks
• Completes light electrical repairs to appliances, fixtures and switches
• Completes light plumbing repairs to water and sewage systems including replacement of fittings and clearing of stoppages
• Parks cars
• Repairs and replaces of glass, tile, screens, locks, drapes
• Assists in removal of snow and ice as needed
• Assists in small office moves
• Carries out preventative maintenance tasks as assigned
• Participates in the on‑call rotation for emergency situations such as inclement weather or mechanical failures
• Additional responsibilities may be assigned by supervisor
