Diesel​/Auto Mechanic

Eversource is looking for a talented and motivated Diesel/Automotive technician to join our Fleet team.

• Fleet Maintenance Department

• Troubleshoot, inspect, and repair chassis, gas/diesel engines, drive trains, rear axles, steering mechanisms, hydraulic/air braking systems, suspensions, cooling systems, wheels, tires, and construction equipment.
• Perform scheduled and unscheduled repairs and preventive maintenance.
• Safely handle standard garage materials and chemicals, and maintain a clean & safe work area.
• Accurately document work using Chevin maintenance program.
• Work independently in assigned shop or at other locations within classification limits.

• CDL driver’s and inspector’s license preferred; must obtain within six months if not already held.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a postsecondary program in automotive service technology is a plus.
• Valid health certificate.
• Experience with electronic diagnostic software and instrument systems preferred.
• Working knowledge and ability to use a tablet or desktop computer.
• Ability to diagnose problems and perform necessary repairs to return equipment to safe and operable condition.
• Familiarity with use and safe operation of torches and gas welding equipment.

• Responding to emergency situations to meet customers’ needs is part of every employee’s role.
• May be called to assist during an emergency outside normal responsibilities, work hours and location.
