Electrician

Perform installation, testing, inspection, preventive maintenance, and repair duties involving electric light and power distribution circuits, controls, and appliances throughout hospital buildings and grounds. Maintain the hospital’s electrical distribution systems in compliance with national, state, and local electrical codes and hospital regulatory agencies. Safeguard a safe electrical environment for staff, patients, and visitors. Coordinate work orders, estimate time and materials, maintain nurse call, paging, mechanical alarm, and medical gas alarm systems.

Repair electric motors, controllers, and other auxiliary electrical devices and perform emergency repairs to medical equipment. Install new wiring and electrical machinery, read prints and diagrams for layout specifications, bend conduit, run concealed wiring, isolate and repair circuits, dismantle machinery, replace defective parts, and test for proper operation. Maintain lighting systems, central clock system, and CATV cabling, assist the fire alarm testing company, support other trades during overload or emergency situations, and assist with snow removal as needed.

• Repair motors, controllers, auxiliary devices, and perform emergency equipment repairs.
• Install new wiring and electrical machinery, read schematics, set up conduit, and run concealed wiring.
• Isolate and repair defective circuits, dismantle and replace parts, and test for proper operation.
• Maintain lighting, central clock, and CATV cabling systems.
• Assist fire alarm testing, support other trades during emergencies, and help with snow removal.
• Maintain a clean, orderly work area and adhere to safety regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Trade school diploma or apprenticeship completion.
• Minimum of 3 years experience in commercial and industrial electrical work.
• Massachusetts Journeyman’s Electrical License (required).
• Valid Massachusetts driver’s license (required).

• Hourly wage: $49.34.
