Sila Heating, Cooling, Plumbing, and Electric seeks a Refrigeration Repair Tech to service residential and light commercial customers. You'll diagnose and repair refrigeration and cooling equipment, perform preventive maintenance, and respond to emergency calls while upholding our customer-first, safety-focused standards. Use modern tools and service software, follow EPA and OSHA guidelines, and communicate clearly with homeowners. Responsibilities
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain residential and light commercial refrigeration systems and related HVAC equipment
- Perform preventive maintenance, tune-ups, and safety checks to ensure efficient, reliable system performance
- Respond to scheduled and emergency service calls, accurately troubleshooting cooling and refrigeration issues
- Explain findings, repair options, and maintenance recommendations clearly to homeowners and small business customers
- Document work performed, parts used, and system status in service software to maintain accurate records
- Follow company and OSHA safety procedures, including use of PPE and safe handling of refrigerants
- Collaborate with dispatch, warehouse, and other technicians to complete jobs efficiently and on time
- Maintain company vehicle, tools, and inventory in clean, organized, and service-ready condition
- Stay current on training, codes, and refrigerant regulations to support high-quality, compliant work
- Represent Sila professionally, protecting customer property and delivering courteous, respectful in-home service
Required Skills
- Refrigeration system diagnostics and repair
- Residential and light commercial HVAC service
- Brazing, soldering, and basic piping
- Refrigerant recovery, charging, and leak detection
- Reading electrical and refrigeration schematics
- Use of digital gauges and diagnostic tools
- EPA Section 608 compliant refrigerant handling
- Service ticket and mobile field software usage
- Preventive maintenance and performance testing
- Customer communication and job documentation
