Allston, MA | Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-3:00 PM | $35-$44/Hour + Overtime
Our client is seeking an experienced Field Maintenance Mechanic to support a portfolio of several residential apartment buildings in the Allston and neighboring areas. This is a hands‑on role responsible for responding to resident maintenance requests, completing apartment turnovers, performing general repairs, and helping maintain the overall condition of the properties.
The ideal candidate will have prior residential apartment maintenance experience and be comfortable working independently with minimal supervision. Strong general maintenance skills are required, with experience in plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, drywall, painting, and light electrical work highly valued.
Responsibilities:Respond to resident maintenance requests and work orders across residential properties
Complete apartment turnovers and prepare units for new residents
Perform general plumbing, carpentry, drywall, painting, and light electrical repairs
Troubleshoot maintenance issues and complete repairs independently when possible
Coordinate with outside vendors for larger or specialized repairs
Assist with preventative maintenance and general property upkeep
Communicate professionally with residents, property management, and outside contractors
Rotate between properties based on a weekly maintenance schedule
Qualifications:Previous residential apartment maintenance experience strongly preferred
Strong general maintenance and repair skills
Experience with plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, drywall, painting, and/or electrical work
Ability to troubleshoot and complete repairs with minimal supervision
Dependable, professional, and customer‑service oriented
Strong communication and organizational skills
Ability to travel between properties in Boston, Brookline, Allston, and Cambridge
Willingness to participate in an optional on‑call rotation is a plus
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced residential maintenance professional looking for a stable, full‑time position supporting a well‑maintained portfolio of apartment properties in the Greater Boston area.
This is a Monday-Friday position with a 7:00 AM-3:00 PM schedule
