Building Maintenance Technician
This role focuses on maintaining a high-end hospitality facility in safe, efficient, and fully functional condition by performing routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on building systems, fixtures, and equipment while providing excellent customer-facing service.
Responsibilities
- Inspect assigned areas on a routine basis to ensure the facility remains in safe, functional, and serviceable condition.
- Complete daily, weekly, and monthly checklists of pre-scheduled building and equipment maintenance procedures using work orders.
- Perform preventive maintenance on building systems, equipment, and fixtures to minimize downtime and extend asset life.
- Repair and maintain fixtures and hardware such as doors, windows, minor appliances, office equipment, and related components.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general maintenance issues and implement appropriate solutions.
- Perform drywall patching, painting, and other cosmetic repairs to maintain a high-quality appearance throughout the facility.
- Identify and report major maintenance needs or safety concerns and recommend corrective actions to leadership.
- Work on rooftop HVAC units and related systems, including components associated with VAV (Variable Air Volume) boxes, as applicable.
- Respond to maintenance requests in a timely, professional manner while maintaining a strong customer service focus.
- Document completed work, maintenance activities, and issues clearly and accurately using written, verbal, and email communication.
- Collaborate with other maintenance and facility team members to prioritize tasks and ensure smooth daily operations.
- Safely lift, move, and handle materials and equipment weighing 50 pounds or more as part of daily tasks.
Essential Skills
- 4–6 years of building maintenance experience in apartment complexes, hotels, or general property maintenance.
- Hands-on experience with facilities maintenance including electrical, mechanical, and plumbing work.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing building systems, fixtures, and hardware.
- Experience performing preventive maintenance on building and equipment systems.
- Ability to perform painting, drywall repair, and other finish work to a high standard.
- Experience working with HVAC systems, including rooftop units.
- Familiarity with VAV (Variable Air Volume) boxes.
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds on a daily basis.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including email communication.
- Customer service and customer-facing experience in previous roles.
- Ability to work effectively in a customer-focused environment such as apartments, hotels, or corporate facilities.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Previous maintenance experience in a hotel or apartment complex environment.
- Luxury or high-end hospitality or residential settings.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple work orders and maintenance tasks simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean, well-presented facility.
- Ability to work overtime when needed.
- Painting experience is a significant plus.

You will use a variety of tools and equipment related to electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, painting, and general building maintenance.
