Position Summary

The Painter is responsible for performing commercial interior and exterior painting, surface preparation, drywall patching, repairs, touch-ups, and punch list work. The ideal candidate has commercial renovation experience, pays close attention to detail, and can work professionally and respectfully in occupied environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare walls, ceilings, doors, trim, and other surfaces for painting.
  • Protect floors, furniture, fixtures, and occupied areas before beginning work.
  • Apply paint using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment, as appropriate.
  • Patch holes, cracks, and damaged areas in drywall.
  • Tape, mud, sand, and finish small drywall repairs so surfaces are ready for paint.
  • Match existing paint colors and finishes when completing repairs and touch-ups.
  • Caulk gaps and perform minor surface repairs as needed.
  • Complete interior and exterior painting projects according to project plans, specifications, schedules, and company quality standards.
  • Complete punch list items, final touch-ups, and warranty-related repairs.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
  • Properly clean, maintain, and store painting tools and equipment.
  • Collaborate with project managers, site superintendents, subcontractors, and other team members to help complete projects safely and on schedule.
  • Conduct work professionally and respectfully in occupied senior living, affordable housing, healthcare, and institutional environments.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of commercial painting experience.
  • Commercial renovation or occupied-construction experience preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Ability to follow project plans, product specifications, and safety requirements.
Requirements
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Ability to reliably travel to assigned project sites as required.
  • Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a pre-employment background check and drug screening, consistent with applicable law.
  • Ability to safely perform the physical demands of the position, including lifting, carrying, climbing ladders, bending, kneeling, reaching, and standing for extended periods.
  • Ability to safely lift and carry materials and equipment commonly used in commercial painting.
Compensation & Benefits

Pay: $25-$30 per hour, commensurate with experience.
